Kendrick Lodge No. 2043 is founded
Kendrick Lodge was founded on 2 October 1884. Contemporary records place its early meetings at the Masonic Hall in Reading, beginning a Masonic tradition that continues today.
Established in Reading
By the late nineteenth century Kendrick was firmly established in Reading's Masonic life, with installation meetings and Lodge activity regularly recorded in contemporary Masonic publications.
Half a century of Kendrick
Fifty years after its foundation, Kendrick reached its first major jubilee — a marker of continuity through profound social and national change.
Sons of Kendrick Lodge No. 8362 is consecrated
The Kendrick family expands with the consecration of Sons of Kendrick Lodge No. 8362 on 4 September 1971. The two Lodges would develop their own identities while retaining a close shared heritage.
Sons of Kendrick Chapter No. 8362
The Royal Arch story develops further when Sons of Kendrick Chapter No. 8362 is consecrated on 10 October 1983. The Chapter is a separate body and continues independently.
Kendrick's centenary year
One hundred years after its 1884 foundation, Kendrick enters its second century of Freemasonry in Berkshire.
Berkshire Festival 2023 — Gold Status
Kendrick achieved Gold Status in November 2020 for the Berkshire Festival 2023, continuing a long-standing commitment to Masonic charity and service.
Together Again — the amalgamation
On 17 December 2026, Kendrick Lodge No. 2043 and Sons of Kendrick Lodge No. 8362 are scheduled formally to amalgamate, bringing the two branches of the Kendrick story together within one Lodge and carrying the heritage of both into the future.
